Baked Tofu Egg

About the Recipe

This baked tofu has the texture of a fried egg - slightly crisp exterior and soft in the middle. Serve on a fresh biscuit with vegan cream cheese for a decadent breakfast sandwich.


  • 1 block firm tofu

  • olive oil

  • salt, pepper, garlic powder


Step 1

Rinse tofu and wrap in towel and let sit for several minutes to absorb the excess water.

Step 2

Cut tofu into 1/2" thick slices then cut each slice in half so you end up with square shaped pieces.

Step 3

Arrange tofu on parchment paper lined baking sheet.

Step 4

Brush tofu with olive oil then flip tofu and brush the other side. Sprinkle tofu with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Step 5

Bake on top rack of oven for 20 - 30 minutes or until tofu is browned and slightly crispy.
